Camp Chica is a bilingual (Spanish/English) adventure camp program for girls who identify as Latinx/a/e, and or BIPOC aged 7-12. We welcome non-binary youth who feel this is the right space for them.
We focus on connecting participants to nature and place, to themselves, and creating a community that celebrates bilingualism. Our programs are provided during out-of-school time with Wednesday after-school adventures, day camps on no-school days, and week-long camps in summer. We encourage outdoor play and exploration as a way to observe and learn about the natural world and use art to process and create meaning. The afterschool program serves students from Bear Creek Elementary’s dual immersion program.
