VO Ski & Ride Program
In partnership with Mt Bachelor, Vámonos Outside offers a multi-year ski/snowboard program for Latine/BIPOC teens in Central Oregon. This program introduces youth to skiing and snowboarding, connects them with the winter environment, and explores career opportunities in winter recreation.
Participants receive lessons from Mt Bachelor instructors, a season pass after four lessons, all necessary equipment, winter clothing (if needed), transportation, meals, and mentorship from Latinx/BIPOC community members. Benefits will differ among 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year participants. See the descriptions below.
Program Overview:
- Beginners: Learn to ski/ride + practice skills, explore Mt Bachelor.
- Returners: Build intermediate skills and explore career paths.
- Beyond: Career opportunities, community service, work at Mt Bachelor.

- Returners Dec 8th 4:00pm to 6:00pm
- Beginners Dec 9th 4:00pm to 6:00pm
- Returner only day: Jan 24th (must attend family night) 9am to 2pm
- Mt Bachelor dates: Saturdays 8:30am to 5:00pm:
- January: Jan 31st
- February: Feb 7th, Feb 14th, Feb 21st Feb 28th
- March: Mar 1st, Mar 20th, Mar 23rd
- April: April 5th (End of season Celebration and Family event)
